My husband and I are so blessed to have SHS companions for my Aunt who lives with us. The challenges we face everyday having to care for a loved one that has Alzheimer’s can be extremely stressful but having help from SHS has been a blessing.for my family. The companions are compassionate, caring and very knowledgeable in dealing with an Alzheimer’s client. We can’t thank them enough for their help and really appreciate their time and support.

Seniors Helping Seniors has been supportive and flexible in designing services to fit the needs of my husband, diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment. The DayTrippers program keeps him engaged and active. He looks forward to the interesting trips with the group every week. In addition to DayTrippers, SHS helped us create activities with another provider involving exercise and socialization on another day of the week.
SHS has helped our family make connections with other families and organizations as well as offer educational sessions to help us understand how to help our loved one.

My mother’s companions are wonderful human beings. They are caring, organized, helpful, capable, knowledgeable and fun. My mother really enjoyed the time she spent with her regular companions as well as the companions that sometimes substituted and took her on walks or shopping. Ana, who managed the companions’ schedules always got things organized quickly and effectively. Thank you, SHS!

My mother and I were nervous about hiring a Senior Visitor to be with my father a couple days per week. We contacted Seniors Helping Seniors and had them come to do an assessment of my dad. They matched my dad with Joseph. It has been amazing! Joseph is so great with my father. They go to the senior center and play pool twice a week and then come home, have lunch and talk until my mother comes home. My mother and I are so happy…. My father is too. Joseph has made a huge difference in keeping my father a active and engaged. Thank you!

Seniors Helping Seniors provided a perfect match for my 90 year old mother in law with dementia. The organization took into consideration her personality and interests when identifying the match for her. Every week, she has her friend come by to spend some time with her and go out for a bit. It is something that my mother in law enjoys every week!
